About Us

Aurum Antiques is a family-run buying service based in Crumlin, Northern Ireland, with more than 15+ years of experience across gold, silver, jewellery, watches, medals, coins, and antiques. We are set up for people who want a clear route to selling, not a rushed counter experience.

Many customers start by sending photos or asking a question before they decide whether to post anything. That matters to us. The job is not to force every item through one route. It is to tell you what looks suitable, explain what happens next, and make a clear offer if it makes sense to proceed.

We work with customers locally in Northern Ireland and across the UK by post. We are especially interested in gold, silver, precious metals, coins, scrap gold, and mixed valuables, but we also handle jewellery, watches, medals, and broader antique collections. If you go ahead, the process is designed to stay simple: expert assessment, a clear offer, same-day bank transfer where possible, and free returns if you decline.

Some items are bought for collector resale, others are valued for precious-metal content, and some are simply too good to sit forgotten in a drawer. That blend of resale and recycling is a big part of what we do. We want sellers to feel they are dealing with someone who understands both the financial value and the sentimental side of what they are sending.

How We Assess Your Items

We do not treat everything like scrap. Each category is looked at in the context that actually affects value:

  • Precious metals are checked for weight, purity, hallmarks, and current market value, whether they are pristine pieces or scrap.
  • Jewellery is assessed for materials, maker, condition, design, and any stones or features that affect resale value.
  • Watches are looked at for brand, model, condition, originality, and overall saleability rather than metal weight alone.
  • Coins, medals, and collectibles are judged on age, rarity, condition, demand, and the most relevant market evidence available to us.
