Items We Don't Buy
Here is what falls outside our buying criteria. If you are unsure about an item, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether it is suitable.
Costume Jewellery
Fashion jewellery without precious metal content (gold, silver, platinum) is outside our area. This includes pieces marked "gold tone", "gold plated", or with no hallmark. If it sticks to a magnet, it is almost certainly not gold. Not sure? Send us a photo and we will tell you.
Modern Mass-Produced Items
We specialise in vintage, antique, and precious items. Modern high-street jewellery (Pandora, Thomas Sabo, etc.) rarely holds resale value. The exception is modern pieces in solid gold or containing genuine gemstones.
Reproduction or Replica Items
Replica watches, reproduction medals, and fake coins are not items we can purchase. If you are unsure whether something is genuine, send a photo and we will take a view.
Large Furniture and Artwork
Our postal service is designed for smaller items. We are unable to handle large furniture, paintings, or bulky antiques through our current process. For these, a local auction house or specialist dealer may be a better fit.
Ivory and Restricted Materials
Ivory and items that raise legal or compliance concerns are outside our buying criteria. If you are unsure about a material, ask before posting anything.
China, Porcelain, and Delf
We generally avoid china, porcelain, delf, and fragile crockery because they are too risky to handle safely by post. If you have a wider collection with stronger categories in it, contact us first and we can take a view.
Electrical Items
We do not buy modern electronics, appliances, or electrical goods. The exception is vintage cameras, which we do buy - see our cameras page.
Not Sure?
If your item is not listed above and you think it may have value, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether it is suitable.
